Open Competitions

Each year we organise a variety of Gents and Ladies Open Events and all eligible golfers are welcome to enter.

All you need is your CDH number, the name of your home club and a “fully developed” handicap (at least 20 scores on your handicap record, as shown in the Wales or England Golf dashboard)

Our September Open Meeting offers 9 days of competitions for men and women, with a variety of formats. It starts on the Friday following the August Bank Holiday weekend. The 2025 meeting will start on Friday 29th August with a Seniors 18 Holes Single Stableford and finish on Sunday 8th September with a Mixed Pairs Better Ball Stableford.

Aberconwy trophy

The Aberconwy Trophy is a 72 hole Stroke Play Competition played over 2 days, 36 holes at Maesdu and 36 holes at Conwy each year, during the first weekend of June. The total entries is limited to 66 Competitors, in the event of applications exceeding this number, entries from players with higher handicaps will be decided by ballot which will take place immediately after the closing date for entries. The winner shall be the competitor who returns the lowest score.

Huge congratulations to all competitors who took part in this year’s tournament. Both courses were in excellent condition, so thanks to all the green keepers and volunteers. A special thanks to all those behind the scenes who quietly make everything happen.
